Single & Multiple Choice Questions

Single and multicode questions (multiple choice questions) are probably the most common type of question style used to varying degrees in surveys. They are simple to create, do not take long to complete, and have the advantage of being readily understood by survey participants.

Single Code Versus Multiple Choice Questions

They can appear as a dichotomous single code question (e.g. yes/no answers) or more typically, as a longer list of answers. As the name suggests, a single code question requires the respondent to select just one answer, and a multicode question allows the respondent to select multiple answers.
A variation on the multicode question is the ability to set the maximum number of answers which can be selected. For example, ask the respondent to select up to three items from a list of ten.
Different online survey tools have different names for single and multicode questions. Survegoo calls this question style a Choice question.
